The Mental Health Collaborative Board of Directors used the Results-Based Accountability (RBA) Framework, an evidence-based decision-making model to determine the Result, Indicator, Key Driving Factors and Strategies by completing the RBA Turn the Curve process.
RBA is a systematic framework that emphasizes achieving desired outcomes and continuously measuring progress toward those outcomes. It helps clarify the result we want to achieve, track our performance through data indicators, and, most importantly, improve our effectiveness in creating positive change.
Result: All Marathon County residents will achieve their highest potential of mental wellbeing and thrive in our community.
Indicators:
Here's where we can make the biggest impact:
Expand accessible and inclusive services and resources for youth with mental health concerns.
Amplify student voices to ensure their needs are heard and addressed.
Strengthen legislative support by increasing funding for mental health programs and resources.
Enhance school-based mental health systems and supports.
Here's how we'll do it:
NAMI Wisconsin Raise Your Voice (RYV) clubs are extracurricular high school and middle school clubs dedicated to increasing mental illness awareness, inspiring advocacy and promoting acceptance. This program empowers teens to create a new conversation about mental health through education, leadership development and civic advocacy.
Through a partnership between the Wausau Early Birds Rotary Club, Aspirus Health, and the Grand Theater, the Mental Health Collaborative supported a community screening of the documentary “Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age” on March 18, 2026. The Mental Health Collaborative looks forward to continuing its support for additional community screenings in the future.
The Central Wisconsin Mental Health Training Academy will establish a cohort-based training and professional development program for local QTTs, post-graduate fellows and early-career therapists. The Academy will create a learning community, provide structured training opportunities, and strengthen partnerships between local mental health clinics, educational institutions, and the Mental Health Collaborative (MHC).
A Mental Health Navigator serves as a vital bridge for students and families, connecting them with the support and services they need both within the school system and throughout the broader community. Working closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators, Navigators help create a more coordinated and compassionate approach to student wellness. In a time when schools are already stretched thin, a dedicated Navigator eases the burden on staff who may not have the time or expertise to manage complex mental health needs. This strategy is currently being explored in smaller, rural school districts across Marathon County.
